Who can join the Group?

Pin Green Scout Group is open to both boys and girls aged from 6 to 14 from Stevenage and the surrounding areas. You don’t have to be local to Pin Green, Chells, Bedwell, or any of our meeting locations!

The Beaver section is open to young people aged 6 to 8 years, Cubs 8 to 10½ years and Scouts 10½ to 14 years. If you are aged 14 to 18, how about joining an Explorer Scout Unit (ESU)? You could then join in Scouting activities as a youth member, as well as hone your leadership skills while helping out with a Scout Group as a Young Leader.

Aged 18 and over, or a parent of a young person in Scouting? You can be a part of the adventure too! See here for volunteering opportunities.

Can girls join Scouts?

Yes! Girls have been welcomed into the Movement since 1976 and by 1992 were allowed to join all youth sections. Scouting in the UK has been fully co-educational since 2007. Some of the very first Scoutmasters were women, even way back in 1909. Today, close to 29% of youth members are girls, with 43% of the adult volunteers identifying as female.
